For the seventh set of shots we decided to film everything again, this is mainly due to the SLR Canon 500D which I have at home takes a better shot then that of the camera we currently have. It causes features to show up better and makes it not as blurry as the other camera does. As you can see the cupboard scene is much clearer and we can see Lily's face much better and see her reactions. Also the last three clips are that of outside and by using this camera and going out a little bit earlier we were able to capture Lily without having to use any extra lighting causing the clips to look extremely better.

Ideas for poster pictures
When filming our trailer we also decided this would be a good time to try and take some pictures for our poster. We decided on two ideas, the abductor on the stair case and the feet of the Abductor by the door. Both are scenes from the trailer so we believe they will link well together.
We all thought this would be a good poster idea as it would show the shadow of the abductor giving the scare factor as you do not see his face and any features at all because of the bulky coat he is wearing. However when actually taking the photos of him they were not as we expected. Because of the wooden bars that are on the staircase it blocks a lot of him off and does not give the same affect it has in the trailer. Also by either adding carpet or the window above him it ruins the sense of fear slightly and just looks wrong.
This picture we believe is a lot better then the one above. It does not give anything away such as the abductors face or figure but only the shoes and trousers he wears. Also with editing we can make sections stand out more then others causing the poster to look like the Sixth Sense one that we looked at earlier. We like this one because it was simplistic but easy to understand what it is about, which we hope our poster will also do. Below is other shots we took of the same position, but in different ways, but we all believed that this one was the best overall.
Changes
For our sixth set of shots we made many changes within the trailer. One that can easily be seen is the clothing which all three of us wear. Shannon is now wearing a white and grey cardigan instead of the red and black one as we all though the colours did not work with the character whilst the grey and white causes her to look innocent and pure still. Chelsea is now wearing all black on top showing the contrast between the white and black and therefor the contrast of their personalities and Lily is now wearing a red coat on top of the red dress as we realised that when leaving a party most people wear a coat and by not wearing one it becomes less realistic.
Another change we made is to do with the lighting of the trailer. For quite a few parts it is meant to be dark in the trailer with little light but because of this the characters were hard to see. So to change this we added extra lighting in where we could. In the scene where the Abuctor is coming up the stairs we added an extra light to the stairs, we tried three different lights (as seen below) and decided to pick the last one as it has just enough light that we cannot see the face but the outline/shadow of him is better.
Another change for lighting is when Lily is in the cupboard. When filming this before we only used a torch to light her but looking back on our clips they are not very bright, to change this we used a photographing light in which shines very bright light. We put this is a section of the room where it gives the cupboard a bit of light but not too much at the same time.
Sixth set of shots
After looking at our rough cut trailer we realised there was lots that needed to be changed, and bits needed to be added. So we added a clip form behind the bushes behind the bench we are sitting on to give the allusion that someone was watching us. We also added more creative shots such as the one where the phone is on the floor and the camera is at its level looking at Shannon and Chelsea walking towards the phone. We also filmed the parts with Georgie again as that part needs lots of work done to it as we have problems with the lighting.

Preperation for sixth set of shots
For the sixth set of shots we made a time line which would help us get everything done in one day as we wanted to film the whole trailer again.
By looking at this as we filmed we new exactly what we had to do and when it had to be done by making us concentrate a lot more and get better clips for our trailer.
When going to the house to film we needed lots of time to prepare as we not only had to sort the cupboard out and do Lily's make-up but this time we had to sort the lighting out as well which we found was a lot harder then we expected as we had never assembled professional lighting like this before and therefor over-run on our time line as we did not start filming until 5ish.
The way in which we light the cupboard before, on the right, and the way we did this time, below.

Rough Cut
This is the first full draft of our trailer in which we have all the clips which we wanted and put them together. Although as you can see many clips need to be re-shot and some even just taken out completely. When watching it back we found it looked more like a short film rather than a film trailer. We asked our friend and media teacher for feedback and wrote down what they had to say about it and how it could be changed:
1) There needs to be more 'jumpy' parts as it will increase the tension for the trailer.
2) Shots need to be shorter, or broken up more as it is more like a short story.
3) Reaction shots need to be added as we did not film any for the rough cut.
4) Different shots need to be added, such as more experimental ones as they ones we use are all basic.
5) In the cupboard scene we need to direct our actor to struggle more as she does not look scared enough in the first shot.
6) The lighting of 'Lily' in the field and also the abductor coming up the stairs needs to be clearer as at times it is hard to see them.
7) The background music needs to be changed as it does not fit the trailer.
8) The natural sound that is picked up needs to be quieter as it is too loud and covers up the tension of the background music.

Adding sound onto the clips
After we had filmed all the clips we needed to produce a rough cut of the whole trailer, we all edited it together. However because we had to use MoviePlus X3 this became much harder than we first expected. Especially when we needed to add in our sound to the trailer.
The picture of the left shows how we have the trailer clips complete then at the bottom is space for audio. At first we were confused on how to add the audio into the programme, however thankfully there is a help menu on the left hand side in which we simply asked how to insert the sounds.

Once we new what to do it was very simply and easy. All we had to do was go on 'Add Media' as we have done for the clips and select a sound file instead. Then we put it in the audio section and moved it to where it was needed.
Here you can see that after founding out how to insert the audio, we added many clips of sound and at some points have three different types of sound going at once (speaking, wind/leaves, music). From adding the sound into the trailer it has become a lot scarier and builds the tension quickly throughout the trailer until the end.

Fifth set of shots
For the fifth set of shots we decided to change location to Dartford Heath. This was more for convenience as it is very close to our school so filming would be much easier as if we needed one sectioned filmed again and quick we were able to do this. Also the surroundings are similar to that in Hartley were Lily goes missing there for the difference isn't too much, and because of the lighting and time difference it could be seen to be the same place. Also we wished to add another speaking part of Shannon and Chelsea when they are at home and talking about the situation. We took different shots so when they are talking we can change in between them all the time instead of having the same shot all the way through. Below we have a clip of:
1) Chelsea painting her nails showing her un-interest in the situation.
2) Shannon is in the field in which they found her phone and is screaming out Lily's name in a desperate attempt to find her.
3) Here is just a clip of Shannon when she gets the mysterious text message and her reaction towards it.
4) Shannon and Chelsea walking back home from the night before.
5) A side ways shot of the two talking.
6) All the paper in which Shannon is trying to piece any information she can to find the where abouts of her friend.
7) Close up shot of just Shannon talking.
8) A shot of both characters talking to each other.

Preperation for fifth set of shots
The fifth set of shots we did was the middle section of the trailer. This is where Shannon and Chelsea are seen. However we had a few problems with our actors we used so in the end we decided it would be best if Jeni and I were in it then Charmaine filmed this was so we did not have to rely on anyone and we all new exactly what we had to do. Therefor I am now 'Shannon' and Jeni is 'Chelsea'.
For these clips we needed to be outside in a wide open space where we find Lily's phone and then are watched from the bushes by the abductor. To do this we looked on Googlemaps to find a good place and decided on the Dartford Heath as there are wide open spaces but also lots of trees and bushes in which we could be watched from. Also it is very easy for us to all get to. As you can see on the left is a picture of where we will be filming this section of the trailer.
We also then had to look and see what the weather was going to be like for the day we were planning to film on to make sure we could do the outside section of the trailer. Luckily the weather was great for us to film as it is not bright and sunny but cloudy and cold which gives the impression of the horror of what they will discover.
The other section of the trailer we were going to film that day was the bedroom scene in which the two friends are talking about Lily's phone they discovered in the open field. For this we used Jeni's room and made a script in which we would learn and use. It is only short as we just want the audience to understand who cares more about the missing of their friend and the one who doesn't. We will keep to the script as close as we can but we will allow some extra words to be added if they sound better.
The last piece of preparation we needed to do was to work out what the two characters will be wearing. As you can see we put Chelsea in a dark coloured top and Shannon in a white one. These two outfits contrast each other allowing the audience to see they have two very different personalities. It also shows how Shannon is more pure where as Chelsea can be seen as mysterious and dark.

Forth set of shots
This is the last section of the trailer where Georgie is in the cupboard and the abductor is walking slowly up the stairs towards her. We do this in many angles and film me walking up the stairs in a ghostly way, however this is only to get the right angle of the camera to give the best effect. We also turned off all of the lights except that of the one downstairs so we only get a Shadow/outline of the abductor and not actually see too much of him. Here is the clip of our testing to find the right angle and we feel this one worked the best:
However when looking back at it we realised the camera is too far away so when we filmed the abductor we moved the camera towards the stairs slightly. We made him wear a big black coat and told him to keep his head down and slightly turned to the left, away from the camera, so there is no chance of anyone seeing his face and knowing who he is.
We also filmed Georgie (Lily) in the cupboard scene. We needed lots of preparation for this such as her make-up and clearing out the cupboard. However after doing that and filming we managed to get a few good shots and one that we will put in our trailer. However we feel she is not struggling enough so we need to film it again.

Preparation for the fourth set of shots
To give the effect of Georgie (Lily) being dirty and kept locked in the cupboard for a long time Jeni and I applied black eye shadow to her eyes and mascara then asked her to rub her eyes a lot. This caused it to smudge, also we put small amounts of black eyeshadow on our finger tips and put them onto her face to cause her to look as though it is covered in dirt or dust.
This is what Georgie looked like after we applied all the make up to her face. As you can see it looks as though dirt is all on her face and gives the appearance she has been locked away in a small dirty place, which is what we needed to happen. Also when we then film her in the dark cupboard her face will not stand out as much due to her pale features.
Above are pictures of me sorting out the small cupboard that will become where Georgie will be 'trapped' in. However we have to move some of the shoes around ads there was not enough room for her also some clothing have to moved so when we filmed she face could be seen.

Sound take two
Due to our recording of sound from before not being as good as we hoped we went out and recorded it again but this time did it differently. As you will be able to see instead of actually recording people doing the things we are improvising.
Here we had Jeni crunching leaves in her hand to give the impression of someone walking in them. This works a lot better then our first set of sound shots and when we put them into our trailer it worked well. However there is one problem because we did not look at the clips of Lily walking when we did the crunching of leaves they are slightly out of time so we will most likely have to film the sound again but watch the clip at the same time so the sounds work together.
To add more tension and cause Lily to be scared in the trailer we broke some twigs and branches to create the sound of someone perhaps standing on the and breaking of moving around in the trees/bushes. We will dot these around the trailer in specific places to build tension and the scare the characters.
