The other artist we looked into a lot was 'krzysztof penderecki'. His music created a more spooky atmosphere that we believed we needed in our trailer to cause it to race peoples hearts and hopefully scare them slightly. The piece we finally chose upon to put in the trailer is called 'Krzysztof Penderecki-Concerto Grosso No.1 in c minor' however unfortunately this piece is no longer available on YouTube as it was taken down only a few days after we downloaded it. However we are not going to use the whole song but instead clip the sections we believe will give the greatest affect and piece them together, which will hopefully link well together and not sound awful.

Picking our soundtrack
We all decided that we needed to work out our music soon or it may cause problems later on in the process of making the trailer. To do this our teacher gave us a selection of different artists that he believed would lead us in the right path to finding our perfect soundtrack. The first person we listened to was 'José Serebrier' but as you can hear from the track below we did not feel his music was suitable for our trailer as it was not eerie enough for our liking.

Research into background music
When looking at the three trailers (Inception, The Shining, The Sixth Sense) for different styles of shots I also looked at the music that was used through out them, in all three of the trailers below the background music links in perfectly with the shots and specific noises are made when needed, for example a thump becomes louder.
All of the music is spooky and is made to build the tension throughout the trailer. There is also a link with all three trailers, as the trailer progresses the music becomes louder and the pace becomes faster, this almost mimics the audiences heartbeat as they watch it.
Although we will not be able to make and produce our own background music by looking into these three trailers we know now what kind of music to look out for and also that the music does not fit with the trailer but the trailer fits within the music.

Sound
For our trailer we need sound to go with it. For example leaves crunching when people walk, heavy breathing and speaking. To do this the three of us stayed after school one night and did our first attempt of sound recording. The equipment we needed was the Boom, Deadcat and the camera. We had a few problems with the equipment as we had never used them before causing us to, at first, not gain any sound at all when we filmed. However after we sorted the equipment we were able to pick up sounds.
This was one of the first pieces we filmed as you can see we put the Deadcat quite close to her feet to gain the loudest noise we could. However we found out it does not sound as good as we first thought, and weirdly does not sound like a person walking through leaves.
Here I am trying to create the noise and wind blowing through the trees and hear the branches crash together. However again the Deadcat does not pick up the sound we wanted causing the sound we filmed to be unclear of what it is unless you were to watch the video along with it.
Here we did a small experiment. We heard a bird chirping in a tree close by to us and we thought it could be used in our trailer in the quiet parts to cause an eeriness where it was almost too quiet. However although on the clip it is easy to hear when we added it onto a piece of filming the sound did not come out due to it being too quiet. However when filming on a later date we are going to try and record it again but at a closer range.
This last sound clip is of all of us trying to re-create the sound of wind as when we filmed it was not windy at all but we wanted to have the sound in the background as in near all horror/thriller films when a character is outside at a key moment there is wind to hide the sound of the Abucter coming. However all of us blowing into the Deadcat did not work as you can easily hear us in between breaths.
Overall the sound that we captured will not be used in our trailer as they did not work. However by doing this we gained knowledge of what we sound not do. Instead next time we are going to try and make our own sounds such as crunching leaves with out hands to produce the sound of Lily walking.
